The song, “Desperado”, mentions the lines, "Now it seems to me, some fine things Have been laid upon your table But you only want the ones that youcan't get." What in the world could these lines mean? What could these lines have to do with being a  desperado? I am going to share my honest opinion on what I think The Eagles mean.
The song, ”Desperado”, quotes, "Now it seems to me, some fine things Have been laid upon your table But you only want the ones that you can't get.". I feel that this means that the desperado of the song has had plenty of men thrown at her. Plenty of men who would love and care for her. The last part of the quote of the song, “but you only want the ones you can’t get.” means that she only wants the men she can’t get. Perhaps the man just doesn’t love her, or he loves someone else. Sadly the fact that she loves him has blinded her from everyone else that has ever thrown themselves at her. Perhaps she is so sightless that she doesn’t realize that the man doesn’t love her. Finally, all of these lines joined together mean only one thing. It seems to him that some fine men have been thrown at her. Sadly, she only wants the men she can’t get. Desperado means to be desperate and she is so blinded that she only wants one man.
I feel these lines relate to me in one or two ways. When I was young I was very much into toys. When I was younger I wasn’t old enough to stay home, so I had to go shopping with mom a lot. I would always ask her some king of toy. Some times she would try to compromise with me by letting me get something smaller, but I always wanted the bigger one, so I would usually end up with nothing. At this point in my life I have begun to look at high schools for the future. There are a lot that I’m looking at and a lot that I could do well at, but I always pay attention to the ones I have less of a chance to get into. I will of course end up at some high school, but if I keep looking past the decent ones then I might not end up in a good one. This may be ridiculous, but in the future I see myself having problems with cars. I have been into cars for some time now and know enough about them that I probably won’t be satisfied with the ones offered to me but I’ll probably the ones I cant get. Therefore I know I will always want better.
These lines have some meaning and relation to me, but I think that they are only a small part of me. I have shared my honest opinion on the meaning of the song, and those lines in particular. I used a lot of examples such as high schools and cars because I think it better defines what I’m trying to explain. Finally, I have explained what these lines have to do with a desperado.
